EK-7S – non-regenerable
The EK-7S descaling filter cartridge improves the taste of cold and hot beverages (especially for enhancing the flavour of coffee and tea) and protects household appliances against limescale. The ion exchange resin through which the water flows reduces the hardness of the water.
EK-6GH – regenerable
The EK-6H descaling cartridge improves the taste of cold and hot beverages (especially for enhancing the flavour of coffee and tea) and protects household appliances against limescale. The ion exchange resin through which the water flows reduces the total hardness of the water and can be regenerated several times using a brine solution. This saves the cost of purchasing a new cartridge. Upon request, your specialist dealer can provide you with regeneration instructions, including information on exactly what is required.
Use: The water flow should not exceed approx. 2 l/min to ensure noticeable descaling. The possible service life depends on the hardness of the incoming water. Depending on the hardness of the raw water, a capacity of up to 1,900 l (hardness level 5–10 °dH) or 450 l (hardness level 11–25 °dH) can be achieved. The filter cartridge must be replaced when typical signs of limescale, such as a film on tea, loss of aroma in tea/coffee or limescale deposits on surfaces, reappear. According to DIN 1988, the cartridge must be replaced after 6 months at the latest.
