Drinking water filter cartridge with shungite
Shungite concerns a black rock from the early period of the earth. Shungites formed more than 600 million years ago. It probably resulted from Sapropel (a sort of mud), which originates from seaweeds. Shungite contains the very, very rare C60 and C70 fullerenes (symmetrical molecules from carbon atoms). Discovery sites are often areas with oil slate like Eastern Finland or Russia.
The rock name was first given or was created by Alexander Alexandrowitsch Inostranzew, who first described the rock in 1880.
Shungite rock mainly consists of a special carbon, a sort of graphite variation. Moreover silicon (quartz), feldspar and chlorite are even included. The silicate components are in crystalline form and are evenly distributed. Shungite looks optically similar to anthracite. In addition, even components of iron, magnesium, potassium, calcium and other elements occur in very small quantities.
Why does Shungite filter the water?
Shungite carbon is excellent as a substitute or supplement of activated carbon in water filters. According to traditional medicine, Shungite has unusual properties and supports the well-being in a natural manner.
This filter cartridge was produced on the basis of the NFP Premium exclusively for Prime Inventions. It has a mechanical filter fineness of < 0.45 μm and a very high chemical and physical adsorption capacity for chemical materials. By admixing shungite it gets special properties.
The filter cartridge must be changed after six months (based on DIN 1988). Basically, up to 10,000 liters of water may be filtered within this time. Nevertheless, earlier replacement can be necessary if the water throughput is appreciably reduced. This is usually a sign of the increased presence of fine particles in the unfiltered water.
Flow: approx 1.5 liters per minute (at 4 bar)
Temperature: Use only cold water, protect from freezing
